Talent Management

We Design and Implement Customized
Performance Management Systems

If you are seeking to develop a performance management system applicable to all positions that will incorporate your organization’s key objectives and values, job specific competencies, and measurable results, you can partner immediately with an MASCPA consultant in completing this process in a timely manner.

MASCPA will engage your designated “Performance Management Team” members who will participate in the development of the performance appraisal program.  Their input will be invaluable, and their buy-in critical to the program’s implementation and follow-through.

Your dedicated MASCPA consultant will facilitate weekly working session(s) with your designated “Performance Management Team” members to conduct the following work:

  • Define a performance rating scale.
  • Translate the mission and values into ratable behaviors.
  • Develop a performance appraisal format integrating these factors, along with fields for capturing other relevant information such as goals and objectives, career development/performance improvement plans, and comments.

MASCPA will provide all documents in MS Word format, allowing them to be stored electronically and modified as desired. MASCPA will also work with the Human Resources Manager or designee to design and deliver a training program for managers and supervisors and a communications plan to introduce the new program to employees. Throughout the project, the MASCPA Consultant will be available for telephone, email and in-person consultation, as a resource to your designated “Performance Management Team” members and HR Manager or designee.  We will be flexible to meet your needs, so that a quality result is achieved.

PROJECTED WORK PLAN

  1. Customize performance appraisal tools for your organization that ill be developed for jobs and job families.  Typical jobs and job families include Management, Supervision, Sales/Marketing, Administrative, Production, and Technical.
  2. Results and measurements as identified in your job descriptions will be incorporated into evaluation tools, integrating these as key elements of the company’s performance management program.
  3. Appropriate customized performance rating scales will be developed.
  4. A methodology will be developed to link the performance ratings to your existing market-based compensation.
  5. Training will be developed for managers and supervisors who will be conducting performance appraisals.
  6. A communications message will be created to introduce the program to employees.
  7. Documentation for the performance appraisal program will be prepared in MS Word and MS Excel to enable the program to be stored electronically and easily administered, maintained, and updated.

INVESTMENT

It is anticipated that the total project for an organization with 150 employees or less will proceed over a period of up to 8 weeks.  During this time your MASCPA Consultant will facilitate (two to three hours) weekly working sessions with your designated “Performance Management Team” to develop performance expectations, facilitate discussion and input, develop position-by-position job-based performance criteria, and finalize performance management system documents.  The consultant will also be doing work outside of the working sessions to prepare templates, handouts, and conduct research.

Obviously organization size impacts the amount of time it takes to complete a project; therefore, scalable items in the attached project plan estimate may need to be adjusted upward for organizations with over 150 employees, or more than 4 sample formats for position competencies, or more than 10 supervisors.
