SolidWorks Online Sheet Metal (6/10-6/11/20)

June 10 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

This class will be held online with a live interactive session!

This 2 day, class presents the user with the functionality within SolidWorks used to create sheet metal parts. Students will create various sheet metal parts and drawings using lab exercises that step them through this process.

Upon completion of this class, the user should be proficient in all the SolidWorks sheet metal functionality and have the ability to create and document any sheet metal part.
CREATE SHEET METAL BODIES FROM SCRATCH-

Take sketches and turn them into sheet metal with no trouble! Then, take your part and continuously add to its geometry.

FLAT PATTERNS-

All sheet metal creations will automatically create a flat pattern with bend lines and bend information.

CONVERTING SOLID OBJECTS TO SHEET METAL-

Not only can you create sheet metal parts from scratch, but you can also use solid bodies! Solid bodies allow for complex geometry to be propagated in sheet metal that otherwise would be difficult to create as a sheet metal feature.

FORMING TOOLS-

SOLIDWORKS comes with a library of forming tools to make your sheet metal designing easier. We also create custom form tools, too!

DOCUMENT YOUR SHEET METAL-

There is a lot of information that needs to be communicated through drawings. Learn how to automatically create, bend, and position tables that communicate the accurate information.
